Bright Literary Agency represents award-winning world-class storytellers, character developers and generators of children’s content. Born out of the continued success of The Bright Agency – a leading children’s illustration agency www.thebrightagency.com with an outstanding global client list – Bright Literary Agency prides itself in championing the creation of engaging, current, and commercial content across all genres of children’s publishing.
Dedicated entrepreneur Vicki Willden-Lebrecht founded the Bright Agency in 2003 to address a gap in the market for developing and nurturing unpublished illustrative talent. Since then, the company has grown organically with the increasing globalisation of the company, combined with cultural awareness, a clear strategy of artist management and nurturing an amazing array of new agents.
Understanding the rhythm of the industry is key to the way in which Bright Literary Agency works and, over a decade on, Bright has continued to focus on working in a dynamic and forward thinking way. In close partnership with our publishers, the Bright Literary Agency scouts and develops authors and texts to suit each individual publishing list. We listen to both the author and the client to develop current, layered and character-led content with a mindfulness of it's commercial place and always working to a larger plan.
With an ever-expanding source of inspirational material and incredible new talent at our fingertips, we are all united by one common goal – a deep passion and complete dedication to children’s books and literature in all its shapes and forms.
Bright Literary Agency represents a world class portfolio of some of the most successful names in children’s publishing, including author/illustrators such as Sue Hendra and Benji Davies, and authors including Adam and Charlotte Guillain. Award-winning titles nurtured and championed by Bright can be found on bestseller lists in the UK and the USA, and topping many of the respected industry awards like the Waterstone's prize and the V&A, and book reviews often gracing the New York times best seller lists.
