Heading straight out of university and into a contract with Bloomsbury Books, Sue went on to work with Walker Books, OUP and Macmillian. Her inspiration comes from fun and silliness and she loves the classics such as Where the Wild Things Are.
'My career has been boosted through meeting Vicki Willden-Lebrecht and joining the Bright Agency - since then, I've written books for Hodder, Simon and Schuster and Random House as well as illustrating for Scholastic, Harper Collins, Random House US, and producing greetings cards for the likes of Roger La Borde. As well as getting me fantastic jobs, Vicki has really helped me to develop my style and brings my work to life by making it happen and getting it printed.
Paul Linnet then joined my world over a pint and a discussion on a now famous fish with fingers could save the day. He made my world even funnier, and happier, we have since made our very own Wanda together and reside in a beautiful house we have restored in Brighton. Since meeting Paul all my works are now written by the pair of us, we are jointly responsible for all the marvellous new characters and worlds that will be coming out under the Sue Hendra brand and he is the secret force behind some of my most batty inspiration.'
We are thrilled that Channel 5's Milkshake are to broadcast Sue's brand new series based on her Random House title, Wanda and the Alien. Nickelodoen global have also acquired the rights.
Sue has two new properties in development that we are looking to extend the rights on.
